Finding beauty in an ugly place

Personally, I find Southern California to be an ugly place in the midst of August. The land is dry and dead. Even come winter time there is not enough rain to flourish the long dead California land. However, despite the fact that I generally find SoCal to be an ugly place, within my own California backyard I found little bits of beauty in this August heat.

Most people find California to beautiful and glorious. Undoubtedly it is, and I have learned to appreciate it. But despite the beauty I have captured in these pictures, I am still seeking a more scenic land. More greenery, more cloudy days. Sunshine, along with magnificent sunsets and sunrises are great. However I find the most beautiful days are when the sky is covered with rain clouds.
