Untitled: Introduction

Julien couldn’t stand Ashley at work; she was a pest to him. She knew nothing of manners or common sense. It is remarkable that she continued to burden him. Never have I seen a person who could be directly told: “Get the fuck out of my office,” and then waltz in the next morning, slewing doughnuts and lattes in her arms. Poor bitch was as clueless as can be, and then some. It’s sad really. When you look at her, you really can see a portrait of the ultimate desperate and lonely woman.

“Baby I just can’t take work any more,” Julien often said to his lovely fiancé Anna, as he walked in the door, usually just a few minutes past six every day through the work week.

“Tough day again, Babe?” was often her reply.

“As always. Seems like it’s time for something new.”

“You mean someone new? That Ashley whore really should’ve taken the hint by now. Too bad she’s Lawrence’s assistant and not yours. Then you could just let the bitch off her leash.”

“I can only dream of it. But Lawrence’s mind is still under control of his dick. Why else would he hire someone who cannot even collect enough intelligence to work a copy machine. Unless of course, that someone had two fake breasts, which are never to be confined by a bra or a shirt of the proper size.”

Anna only giggled at her fiancé’s description of his unwelcome coworker. Never was she jealous or paranoid about the blonde, bodacious bimbo who lingered about Julien’s desk at work. A petty girl as weak-minded as Ashley couldn’t do any damage to her or her relationship; she was no threat. Anna had all the confidence in herself and in Julien that their relationship was as solid as the brick wall that could be seen through their kitchen window.

It’s true. Anna and Julien’s relationship was an image of perfection, besides a few blemishes here and there. But the two loved each either unconditionally. Unfortunately, however, life always happens, and things always change.

Julien forced out another year of energy into his job, being tormented day in and day out by Ashley. Finally, Anna suggested that they move, claiming that it wouldn’t hurt to take a new step and path in life. To her it was going to be a new adventure, and to Julien it was going to be his escape from the hell he willingly went to for nine hours of every work day.

Seattle was to be their destination, and they were off. Anna and Julien were as happy and relieved as could be.

Anna and Julien were beginning their journey from Los Angeles, quite a ways south of their soon-to-be home. They figured it would be nice to take the trip slowly, and make an experience out of it. They would spend just a little over a week’s worth of time to get there.
